About TUM Hyperloop

In 2015 a student initiative was founded at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) to develop and build prototypes for Elon Musk’ SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competitions.

Over the last 5 years we won all editions of the event and gathered extensive experience in the field of ultra-high-speed ground transportation.

In 2019, we launched a new program with the aim to design and build a full-scale ultra-high-speed ground transportation system, based on the ideas of the Hyperloop concept.

To fulfill our goals, we are working hard both on developing the necessary technology and its components as well as on investigating and optimizing the system as a whole.

In particular, a 24 meter long demonstrator including a full-scale pod is going to be built and put into operation in 2021 to show the world our concept of Hyperloop.

Goals

  • Create a brand new website for the team

  • Exponentially increase our SEO presence

  • Improve mobile readability

  • Showcase transition from competition team to a full-scale prototype

  • Share knowledge & access to information about the Hyperloop

  • Constant optimization & growth

  • More importantly: building a full-scale Hyperloop prototype by 2021

My experience at TUM Hyperloop

I joined the team in October 2019 as part of the Business team. Since then, we have been planning and strategizing the new version of the website that would align the major shift from TUM Hyperloop being a competition team to building an actual full-scale prototype of a Hyperloop concept.

We went through various iterations regarding the strategic fundamentals of the website, its content and how to best convey our message in a fresh, dynamic way. We then moved on to some prototyping and UX design until we settled the core structure of the site, which is still the one we have online at the moment.

We eventually finalized the whole projects with ad-hoc renderings and texts to be ready to launch the new version in July after 9 months of hard but satisfying work.

At the moment, we are working on improving the site’ SEO performance and optimizing its content with constant tests, data analysis and strategic edits.
